Sudanese Song

People sang in Sudan before the development of TV shows, wireless technologies and cables development throughout the planet.

I found this article in my archives here, while I was searching for such topic I wrote earlier in the beginning of the eightieth.

I found press coverage to a lecture on this topic I published at that time. I believe that I have forgotten so many topics I wrote in articles, reportages and interviews through my professional life. I have lost so many of these journalistic activities during my long escape from the dictatorship domination in Sudan throughout its modern history.

The archives search I conducted resulted on this page. I hope it is interesting topic to read and know something about the development of this kind of the Sudanese arts.

I found that it is difficult to translate some local terms in the Sudanese language into English, so I just worded them in English letters. I herein, gave them more highlights to explain what they mean.

Shirt of Fire and Olive

The post here Surrealistic Poetic Verses refers to the Surrealistic poetry here Poetic Surrealistic Experiment

I hope I will find a time to translate that poetry. It is also very difficult, as those surrealistic pictures cannot be simply translated into English to give the same meaning in Arabic. I mean the metaphor and other rhetorical expressions are more strong in Arabic than in English. It is fantastic and has its magnet power to make me just crazy about that poetry which falls in beautiful metaphoric stream.

The dedication is to an impossible woman. However, she is not just a normal woman. She is impossible to get, because she is not present. It is only present in my thoughts but I could not find her yet in this world. Therefore, she is impossible to get. However, I promise her optimistic crossing the twilight period through the bridge of culture to reach the ecstasy of our enlightenment.

Axiologist Writer

I remember that having been (axiologist) long time ago, I wrote in different kinds of literature and arts. I actually have forgotten the way to write good English during starving to escape dictators and during all the nights of disturbance and worries.

Please add, share and make some flavours in the Sudanese Art environment. Send me your wishes if you want to be a member of this Blog. Use the comments form here for that purpose and provide some information about you.

One of the wonderful moments during high school that my English volunteer teacher Kevin Tabling read some of my short stories in the composition periods to the class, remarking that, was really good English. He was living at the same street where my house lied; and he used to express that if we are going to drink tea-milk at the evening, then that milk should be from the blonde goat. More details are at the headline-link.

Surrealistic Poetic Verses

Sudanese poets write sometimes some Surrealistic poetic verses like this one Khalid Osman wrote long time ago. The phrases in this kind of verses reflect sometimes images that stand alone in shapes and feelings, just like any Surrealistic painting.

Poetic Surrealistic Experiment
